HSBC car insurance policies rise by 250 per cent
HSBC has reported a motor insurance policy growth of 250 per cent since it joined forces with Junction, it has emerged.
The bank enlisted the motor insurance company to provide policies to its customers via its own branches back in August.
Chief executive of HSBC general insurance Andy Watson said the partnership has "got off to a flying start".
"On average we are seeing sales in a single day equivalent to that previously achieved in a week," he said.
Mr Watson claimed that a big reason for the success is the fact the bank now offers cover across a much wider range of risks, as well as good deals and products.
This may be encouraging for strapped-for-cash Brits who are hoping to make savings on insurance policies during the credit crunch, following the British Insurance Brokers' Association's warning that comprehensive car insurance should always be a priority.
